Shilpa Shetty will be returning to the dance reality show, Super Dancer Chapter 4 after keeping a low profile since her husband Raj Kundra’s arrest in the adult films case. After his arrest, Shilpa skipped the shoot for almost three weeks, but now the Bollywood star is shooting for the episode on Tuesday, which will air on Sony TV this weekend.
Post that, media reports suggested that the actress might be replaced by the show. However, a source close to the show has now confirmed that the actress is indeed returning to the dance reality show and will resume her duties as the show judge. Shilpa has already begun the shoot.
A source close to the show shared that the team had always been keen to get her back but she wanted to take her own time. The source added, “The makers had been in constant touch with her and only recently she decided that she was ready to make a comeback. Shilpa wants to get back to work not just for her kids and family but also for her own sanity. She was welcomed warmly by the Super Dancer team, which made her quite emotional in the morning.”
Shilpa Shetty has been a judge of the show along with filmmaker Anurag Basu and choreographer Geeta Kapur. She has been associated with the reality show since the beginning and has judged its four seasons. In her short absence, this season, popular celebrities like actress Karisma Kapoor, star couple Ritesh Deshmukh, Genelia D’Souza, and actors Moushumi Chatterjee and Sonali Bendre filled in as guest judges.
In an earlier interview, co-judge and filmmaker Anurag Basu spoke about Shilpa’s absence and said, “We miss Shilpa a lot on set. There’s a bonding between all of us, who’re a part of the show, and which also includes people behind the scene and the choreographers. We’re a small family and when one person isn’t around, then bahut mushkil hota hai. Shilpa is dear to us.”
Talking about the pornography case, the FIR was registered against Shilpa’s businessmen husband Raj Kundra after a woman approached to the Mumbai police in February 2021 and made certain allegations… On that basis, the FIR was registered, and further, the case was transferred to the Crime Branch.
Raj was booked under IPC Sections 34 (common intention), 420 (cheating), 292, and 293 (related to obscene and indecent advertisements and displays), and relevant sections of the IT Act and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, he said.
Shilpa recently made her comeback in the films, through her latest digital release on Disney Plus Hotstar ‘Hungama 2.’ Now, the actress will be seen in Sabbir Khan’s Nikamma. The actioner romantic comedy also stars Abhimanyu Dassani and Shirley Setia in the lead.
