Sunny Leone’s Chudail: Ganesh Jain issues 10-day rights notice
Ganesh Jain has issued a public notice claiming exclusive digital, TV and allied rights to Sunny Leone and Rahul Dev's Chudail, with 10 days for objections.

A public notice has thrown the rights around Sunny Leone and Rahul Dev’s film Chudail into question after it appeared in the October 3, 2026 issue of Atul Mohan’s Complete Cinema magazine.
Issued by Ganesh Jain, the notice says he holds the “exclusive rights and authorization” to negotiate the sale, licence or assignment of the film’s digital, television and several allied and ancillary rights. The film was earlier titled Koka Kola, and the notice names Sugar & Spice Production, represented by Chirag Dhariwal and Param Deep Sandhu, as the production entity.
The claim behind the notice
Jain’s claim is said to flow from a finance agreement dated June 3, 2019, and a finance term sheet dated November 3, 2020. The notice states that these rights were “irrevocably sold, assigned and transferred” to him, and that none of the film’s copyright, IPR or other rights would vest with Sugar & Spice Production.
In film-trade language, the notice asserts “sole and exclusive negative rights” — the underlying ownership bundle that lets a holder license, sell or otherwise control how a title is exploited.
- Copyright and intellectual property
- Remake, sequel and prequel rights
- Theatrical, digital, television, satellite, streaming and video-on-demand exploitation
- Dubbing, merchandising and gaming rights across worldwide territories
Why the timing matters
For fans, this is about where Chudail eventually lands on OTT and television. For buyers and platforms, it is a warning: anyone entering a transfer of the film’s IP rights is told they would do so “at their own risk and costs”, as the notice puts it.
Rights disputes like this are not new, but they have become more visible as OTT and satellite windows drive a larger share of a title’s revenue. A contested chain of title tends to slow down deals even when everyone agrees on the creative.
Jain has also invited any person, copyright society or corporate body with a claim or objection to communicate it in writing, with documentary evidence, within 10 days of the public notice.
What happens next
The production house has not yet issued a counter-claim or clarification, and the notice itself does not settle ownership. It simply puts the trade on alert. The coming 10 days will reveal whether Sugar & Spice Production or other stakeholders respond, and whether Chudail’s OTT and satellite journey faces delays.
