3 detained after Tiger Shroff firing; Suniel Shetty urges safety

Suniel Shetty has responded to the October 18 firing incident involving Tiger Shroff with a clear message: no public figure is automatically protected. Speaking on the sidelines of the naming ceremony for Bappi Lahiri Marg in Mumbai, Shetty stressed the need for greater safety and said the attack should not have happened.

What happened in Juhu

Tiger was reportedly leaving a football ground in his car in Juhu when unidentified assailants on a motorcycle allegedly fired multiple rounds at his vehicle. He escaped without gunshot injuries, but he reportedly sustained minor injuries from gunpowder and broken glass. His driver was also hurt and is currently recovering.

Suniel Shetty’s reaction

Shetty connected the attack to a wider concern about personal security. “If something like this can happen to him, it could happen to anyone,” he said. He described Tiger as focused on sports and exercise, and said that made the incident harder to understand.

As a childhood friend of Tiger’s father Jackie Shroff, Shetty said he hoped the situation would be resolved. “I’m also relieved that Tiger himself is fine—it was his driver who got hurt,” he added.

Three suspects detained

Mumbai Police have moved quickly. By October 19, three suspects were detained or arrested in Kota, Rajasthan, allegedly while trying to flee by train. Reports suggest the detained individuals include people from Haryana and Bihar.

A social media post trying to link the attack to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has also been circulating, but police have not verified any such connection. The motive and the people behind the attack remain under investigation.

Why the safety conversation matters

The shooting is a reminder that celebrity status does not automatically mean safety, especially during predictable routines like leaving a football session. It raises practical questions about how stars, their teams and local authorities can manage visibility without turning every appearance into a fortress.

The timing also matters. This was not a film controversy or a promotional moment. It was an ordinary evening turning into a police matter, which is why Shetty’s reaction has resonated beyond the usual Bollywood news cycle.

For fans, the immediate relief is that Tiger is safe. For the industry, the focus is likely to shift toward security planning for regular, low-key outings. The facts so far are straightforward: one actor escaped serious harm, one driver is recovering, and three suspects are in custody while investigators work out the motive.
