Shah Rukh Khan’s team Kolkata Knight Riders won by 10 runs in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The match was held on Sunday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The team KKR owned by Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla, her husband Jay Mehta and Red Chillies Entertainment has so far won the IPL in 2012 and 2014 respectively. The Bollywood Badshah is usually present in the IPL matches when the team KKR is playing. Kolkata Knight Riders’ co-owner Shahrukh Khan took to Twitter to congratulate his team members on their first win in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.
Tagging all the players of team KKR, SRK wrote: Good to hav our 100th IPL match win. The tally is currently led by five-time champions Mumbai Indians, who have won 120 (including two tied game) of their 204 matches. Three-time champions Chennai Super Kings are second in the list. Out of the 180 matches the franchise has played, they have won106 and lost 73. Royal Challengers Bangalore is fourth in the order with 92 wins, while Punjab Kings are fifth with 98 IPL victories.
KKR achieved this notable victory in Chennai after winning a well-fought battle. They were put into bat by SRH. Opener Shubman Gill managed meagre score 15 but his partner Nitish Rana scored a remarkable 80 in 46 balls. Batting at No.3, Rahul Tripathi also scored 53 in 29 balls. Dinesh Karthik in his late bangers scored 22 off 9 balls, this helped KKR post 187/6 in 20 overs.
SRH opener David Warner and his associate Wriddhiman Saha were dismissed early for 7. Manish Pandey, Abdul Samad and Jonny Bairstow played well but could not rescue SRH.
Talking about SRK’s forthcoming films, the actor has cameo roles in Chaddha and Brahmastra movies. SRK fans are looking forward to his film “Pathan” with Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham.
