Sonu Sood appointed as Punjab’s ambassador for the Covid Vaccination Campaign

by Editorial Team

Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has been appointed as the brand ambassador for Punjab’s Covid vaccination drive.  Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh tweeted, “Happy to share that actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood will be the Brand Ambassador of our #Covid19 vaccination drive. I thank him for supporting our campaign to reach out to, and protect every Punjabi, and appeal to all to get vaccinated at the earliest.”  The news has been confirmed by Sonu Sood.  The actor feels that a huge honour has been conferred on him.  As intimated by Sonu, the actor himself hails from Punjab.  He feels that he has done his parents proud by taking on this initiative.  This is no small feat, rather a great responsibility.

Sonu Sood maintained that vaccination awareness is a very important aspect in the current scenario. The actor’s organization is connected with  4891 villages in 6 states.  The organization will provide free vaccination and create awareness of the importance of the vaccination.  The awareness campaign is called Sanjeevani.

Sonu has agreed to kickstart “Sanjeevani” as a lot of people are not taking the vaccine. This is primarily due to people’s pre-conceived notions, “Fundas” as referred in Punjabi. People are apprehensive to go in for Covid vaccination as they feel it is unsafe.  Sonu is confident that he will be able to convince the Punjab population about the safety of the vaccine.  The actor likes the idea of being part of enhancing the safety of the individual and the nation.

Sonu Sood confirmed that is going great,  thousands of people were vaccinated in Punjab.  His contribution in creating an environment of health safety is significant, more so in the second wave.  Since lockdown was not found to be a great solution, the actor is trying to help people stay as safe as possible.

Sonu reminisced that consequent to the pandemic, business was hit hard.  Entertainment Industry was also adversely affected.  Therefore, the actor feels that Indians should be better prepared to salvage the economy.
