Somy Ali: All you need to know about the actress- Tap Now

If you’re a Bollywood fan, you’re probably aware that Somy Ali and Salman Khan supposedly dated over twenty years. She has previously stated in some other interview how she had fantasised about getting married to him one day.

Somy Ali has beforehand discussed persuading her family to just let her travel to India as a youngster despite her disinterest in acting. She revealed to a leading publication that “It was 1991 and I was 16. I saw Maine Pyar Kiya, and I went, ‘I have to marry this guy!’ I told my mom that I am going to India tomorrow. She, of course, sent me off to my room, but I kept pleading that I have to go to India and marry this guy — Salman Khan.”

The actress further added that “I was such a misfit in the film industry. I had no interest in pursuing a film career, and my only goal, which sounds preposterous at this age, was that I have to marry Salman.”

Actress Somy Ali was Born and raised in the Pakistani city of Karachi. Tehmina, her mother, is Iraqi, whereas Madan, her father, is Pakistani. Somy, her mother, as well as her brother, went to Florida after school in the Convent of Jesus and Mary in Karachi till they were 12 years old.

Ali persuaded her mother to let them relocate in Bombay, India, somewhere at the time of 16, after her young love turned towards the Bhaijaan of Bollywood ‘Salman Khan. Ali became active in modelling ventures in Mumbai and then also appeared in Bollywood movies. Respectively 1991 and 1998, she starred in almost 10 of the Bollywood movies as a female lead alongside top Bollywood celebrities.

Ali got active in South Asian women’s rights concerns. She strives to raise awareness about the rapes and domestic abuse victims’ suffering. Shazia Khalid, Sonia Naz, as well as Mukhtaran Mai were all victims of rape, so Ali has published articles about them. “My objective is to assist all of these ladies and ensure that every girl and woman in my nation and throughout the world has access to education and basic human rights,” Ali adds. Her apparel company, So-Me Designs, donates all of its profits towards her non-profit organisation, ‘No More Tears’, which she started around 2006.
