From a Hollywood debut to a Tamil magnum opus, this dusky beauty seems to have it all. Sobhita Dhulipala shot to fame for her role in the Amazon web series, Made in heaven. Now she is all excited about her upcoming movie Monkey Man.
Monkey Man is being directed by Dev Patel. Recently Dhulipala opened about the project and mentioned that while she auditioned for it five years ago, she got to shoot it only during the pandemic. She says, “I had auditioned for it almost five years ago and I got a call back in a few days for a screen test with Dev. I remember it was on the day I was leaving for the Cannes Film festival with my first film Raman Raghav 2.0 (2016). All these years later and many turns in the journey of the film and our individual lives later looks like we belonged with each other all along. What appealed to me about the project is that it’s a collaborative spirit, a young and rather eccentric approach to the story and most certainly the people involved. I knew it would be special from the get-go. I really enjoyed my character’s tender dilemmas, they were as glamorous as sorrowful.”
While shooting in the pandemic has been a challneg for any actor and Sobhita Dhulipala is no expection. However, she mentioned that it was a good time for her to introspect.
In the recent past, many Indian actors have been making their presence felt on a global platform. When asked about this Sobhita Dhulipala said that “It is the greatest era for potent crossovers in all fields, I am very inspired by the many hard workers who stand tall globally. I am too much of a wayfarer to feel bogged down by expectations on any front. It’s a short, short life, you know? Gratitude and passion will light my path.
We wish Sobhita Dhulipala the very best for her Hollywood debut and are looking forward to how her collaboration with Dev Patel will turn out to me.
