Sidharth Shukla’s death: Kriti Sanon lashes out at media for being insensitive at his funeral

Sidharth Shukla’s sudden demise has created unrest among his loved ones and fans. The actor passed away on Thursday (September 2) and his last rites were performed on Friday.

The excessive media coverage especially during the actor’s funeral has been quite disturbing and upsetting for many. Several Bollywood stars too voiced their opinion on the same.

Actress Kriti Sanon took to her social media handle on Saturday evening to express her opinion on the insensitive media coverage of Sidharth’s funeral. The Mimi actress wrote a strongly worded note, which is read as, “Breaks my heart to see our media, photographers and even online portals being so insensitive. Shameful! This isn’t “News”, nor is it “Entertainment”! Draw some boundaries! Have a conscience! Said it before, saying it again! STOP covering funerals!”

“Stop hounding people who are dealing with personal loss by flashing your camera in their face at their most vulnerable time! And for what? A few posts? Online portals and channels are equally at fault” Take a stand, DON’T post those pictures and videos! Stop faking sensitivity by just writing “Heartbreaking” in the captions of such inhuman insensitive posts,” Kriti Sanon added.

Earlier in the day, actress Anushka Sharma too amplified comedian Zakir Khan’s post on celebrity deaths being turned into ‘a show’ by the media. Actress Gauhar Khan also criticized the media coverage of Sidharth Shukla’s funeral. Taking to her Instagram stories and wrote, “This is shameful! The media houses all alike should be ashamed of this kind of coverage! Hang your heads if this is what you do to someone who has lost a loved one! Be ashamed, very ashamed. All media houses, you are only about sensationalizing even tragedy.”

Sidharth Shukla emerged as the winner of reality shows ‘Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 7’ and ‘Bigg Boss 13.’The 40-year-old actor died due to heart arrest leaving a void in the hearts of millions. The late actor is survived by his mother and two sisters.
