Shershaah: Sidharth Malhotra remembers Captain Vikram Batra on his 47th birth anniversary

Actor Sidharth Malhotra, who brought the story of real hero Captain Vikram Batra to screen with Shershaah, took to Instagram to pay tribute to him on his 47th birth anniversary today, September 9. Helmed by Vishnu Varadhan, the film also featured Kiara Advani and is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Shershaah won the hearts of the film critics and audience alike. In the film, Sidharth essayed the late Captain Vikram Batra. On his birth anniversary on Thursday, the actor remembered him with a heartfelt post. He wrote, “Dear Shershaah, They say that those who touch our lives, stay in our hearts forever. And Captain Vikram Batra, you have touched our lives immensely with your valor, wisdom, charm & love for the nation. You will stay in our hearts forever… In your loving memory, Jai Hind. #Shershaah #VikramBatra.”

Producer, Karan Johar, also took to Instagram to pay tribute to Captain Vikram Batra on his birth anniversary. KJo wrote, “Remembering our real-life hero. The one and only Shershaah, whose journey has left an entire nation and world inspired! – Legends live on.”

Sidharth Malhotra spoke to the media channel about what makes Shershaaah special. Talking about portraying the role of Captain Vikram Batra in the film, the actor said, “I’ve been extremely attached to this film and this character because of that. He is someone who has inspired me as well because Vikram Batra overcame fear. He overcame the biggest fear or just fear in general that we all have, of just doing things. He broke that, that obstacle with so much confidence and such heart and such style that we have memorable lines of him saying, ‘Ye dil maange more, Sir’.”
