Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor’s daughter Shanaya Kapoor has finally made her acting debut. Before making her big Bollywood debut, the star kid acted choose to share a glimpse of her acting talent in a commercial for a hair straightener brand.
Filmmaker Karan Johar shared the advertisement on Instagram on Tuesday. In the video, the budding actress is seen shooting with a bowl of spaghetti. She is seen in a casual look with her hair looks spot on. Sharing the video, KJo wrote, “Oh my god, @shanayakapoor02! Your hair looks gorgeous. But are you sure you have seen a bowl of spaghetti before? Thank you for this gem @the_misfit_way!”
Many fans took to the comment section to praise Shanaya but not all of them had nice things to say. Few dropped heart emojis, Shanaya herself commented on his post with a heart and laughing emoji. A user mentioned, “Plz promote some good talent, these girls are super bad actresses.” While another one wrote, “Nepotism mafia, launching a star kid.” Another user commented, “She is overacting even in an ad. God save her movies..” While many users thought she is copying Ananya Panday.
Later, Sanjay Kapoor also shared the same ad on his social media and wrote, “The shoot seems real fun @the_misfit_way! Love the way you devoured that bowl of pasta @shanayakapoor02. @maheepkapoor take notes.”
Earlier this year, Shanaya had shared a video and few beautiful pictures of herself on Instagram to announce that is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. She wrote, “Woke up today with the most grateful heart! Here’s to a great journey ahead with the Dharma Cornerstone Agency family. Excited to kickstart my FIRST FILM (ahh!) this July by Dharma Productions, can’t wait for you all to see what we’re up to! Stay tuned! #DCASquad.”
Earlier, Shanaya has worked as an assistant director for Janhvi Kapoor’s film Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl.
