Hirani has directed five Hindi films, all of which have been commercial and critical triumphs, including Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. (2003), Lage Raho Munnabhai (2006), 3 Idiots (2009), PK (2014), and Sanju (2018). The majority of them have won numerous honours, including national ones. Among his honours are 11 Filmfare Awards. Rajkumar Hirani Films, which he founded and owns, is a Hindi film production firm.
Rajkumar Hirani has parted ways with his mentor and co-producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra after co-producing four films with him. Sanju was Hirani’s first feature film that he produced himself. Chopra will not be appearing in Hirani’s upcoming film alongside Shah Rukh Khan. The film’s co-producers are Hirani and Shah Rukh’s Red Chillies.
Shah Rukh Khan and Vinod Chopra reportedly have a history. In fact, according to industry rumours that have never been confirmed, Shah Rukh felt offended by Vidhu Vinod Chopra when the latter kept him waiting outside his office for hours when he was fresh to the profession. Following this encounter, Shah Rukh reportedly stated that he would never work with Vinod Chopra again.
According to rumours, the picture, which has yet to be named, will begin filming in September of this year, but pre-production has already begun. The film will reportedly star Taapsee Pannu and is described as an amusing comedy set against the backdrop of immigration.
