Saira Banu was hospitalized at Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai three days back after she complained of blood pressure issues. The wife of late legendary actor Dilip Kumar has now been shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). An official tweet by the news agency revealed that the veteran actor was moved to the ICU on Wednesday.
The tweet read, “Actor Saira Banu, wife of late veteran actor Dilip Kumar, was admitted to Hinduja Hospital in Khar, Mumbai after she complained of issues related to blood pressure three days ago. She has been shifted to the ICU ward today.”
Saira Banu’s husband Dilip Kumar passed away on July 7, 2021, due to lung-related illness. The actor was 98 when he breathed his last in Mumbai’s Hinduja Hospital. Informing fans with the sad news, a family friend, Faisal Farooqui, tweeted from Dilip Kumar’s official handle, “With a heavy heart and profound grief, I announce the passing away of our beloved Dilip Saab, a few minutes ago. We are from God and to him, we return.- Faisal Farooqui.”
Saira Banu made her Bollywood debut in 1961 with the film Junglee and is known for films like Diwani (1967) Padosan (1968), Purab Aur Paschim (1970) among others. She has been the rock-solid pillar of strength for Dilip Kumar throughout his life.
