Saif Ali Khan, Yami Gautam, Arjun Kapoor, and Jacqueline Fernandez movie “Bhoot Police” directed by Pavan Kripalani is the latest film to take the OTT route skipping its theatrical release. Saif Ali Khan and Arjun Kapoor who will be seen sharing screen space together for the first time, play ghost hunters in Bhoot Police. On the other hand, Jacqueline Fernandez who is one of the leading ladies has a ‘super sexy and glam’ role in the film.
As per the latest buzz,” Bhoot Police” will have its premiere on Disney+Hotstar and the two parties are currently under talks before the final paperwork. The shoot of Bhoot Police commenced in November last year and was wrapped up by January this year before the second wave of the pandemic hit the nation.
Owing to the Coronavirus pandemic in India, over the past year several films have taken the digital route completely skipping their theatrical release Earlier this year, the movie halls reopened as the number of coronavirus cases were decreasing day by day. This rekindled hopes of filmmakers and many of them announced theatrical releases of their film. However, the situation once again started looking grim in April with a surge in the covid cases all over India. The movie halls were once again shut down and the release of films was once again put on hold.
In the meantime, cinema views habits have also notably changed. This situation once again made many filmmakers to opt for direct OTT release of their movies. Due to this ambiguous situation, the horror comedy Bhoot Police producer Ramesh Taurani has reportedly decided to take the digital route. . Earlier this year, it was announced that Bhoot Police will be screened in theatres on September 10, 2021.
As for Disney+Hotstar, the streaming platform is reportedly on an acquisition spree and is trying to collaborate with many producers. Disney+Hotstar are planning to announce several on their platform just like previous year.
