5 rounds at his home: Rohit Shetty’s Bigg Boss warning

Rohit Shetty addressed the firing at his Juhu home on Bigg Boss 20, warning contestants against gangster cosplay as the Tiger Shroff case widens.

Rohit Shetty finally addresses the firing at his home

Rohit Shetty has rarely let the public into the security scare around his own home. That changed, in a roundabout way, on the latest Weekend Ka Vaar episode of Bigg Boss 20, where he stepped in for regular host Salman Khan.

Shetty pulled up contestants Scout OP, Asif and Yung DSA for repeatedly targeting Qazi Touqeer as a group. Then he made the episode about something bigger than house politics.

From house fights to real gunfire

Drawing a line between the contestants’ behaviour and the attacks that have shaken Bollywood, Shetty asked: “Yahan humare ghar par goliyan chal rahi hain, tum kya gangster banke ghoom rahe ho?” The Hindustan Times reports the question translated to why the contestants were roaming around pretending to be gangsters while firings are happening at real homes.

The remark was as close as Shetty has come to speaking about what happened on February 1, when at least five rounds were fired at the first floor of his residential building in Juhu. No one was injured, and Mumbai Police later made arrests.

Bollywood’s ugly timeline

  • February 1: At least five rounds were fired at Rohit Shetty’s Juhu building; no injuries, arrests made.
  • Last year: Gunfire at Salman Khan’s Bandra apartment; he has faced repeated threats from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
  • October 18: Shots fired near Tiger Shroff’s car around 7 pm in Juhu; two people, including the driver, were injured, while the actor escaped unhurt.

Why the warning landed

Bigg Boss runs on confrontation, but Shetty was asking contestants to see the difference between performance and a real threat. The moment was not a press release or a prepared statement; it used an existing TV stage to make a point about fear many in the industry are living with.

Tiger Shroff case widens

Meanwhile, the investigation into the Tiger Shroff firing is moving forward. Mumbai Police have sealed an Andheri hotel room where three key accused allegedly stayed, and the Crime Branch is looking into whether the shooters practised firing at an unknown location before the incident.

Investigators are also expected to recreate the crime scene with the accused. Four people arrested in the case were produced before Mumbai’s Esplanade Court on Thursday, and Anil Pandit has been named as an absconding accused.
