Priyanka Chopra makes waves globally in several spheres professionally, her loving marriage with American singer Nick Jonas is something that she often talks about with gratitude.
In an exclusive interview at a leading daily fest, the actress opened up about her recently released memoir and her relationship with her hubby Nick.
When asked about are the lessons love taught her, Priyanka said, “I think that love is the most crucial thing in life. That’s the end game and that doesn’t just mean loving your partner, but it means also loving your parents and family. I really believe love makes the world go round. And the only way to love is to go deeply and fully and give yourself completely.”
She believes that a relationship is not a one-person job. “But you also have to get someone that way, instead of it being skewed where only one person is doing it. The one thing that my marriage has definitely taught me is to have a cheerleader.”
Speaking about what her marriage has taught her, The Sky is Pink actress said, “The one thing that my marriage has definitely taught me, which I guess I didn’t feel the need to have, which now I can’t live without is, having your, partner give complete credence and credit to the job and the work that I do.”
She went on to add, “It’s so amazing when I see how Nick accommodates his life or my achievements or my career and where I have to go and what my choices are — how it’s so important to him that I went. And that was something I didn’t realize that I needed – a cheerleader.”
“The one thing that’s most important to me outside of my family is my work. It has stood by me like a rock since I started as 17 years old. And I didn’t realize that I needed my partner to understand the value of how much hard work that I’ve put into building this career on my back. It’s really wonderful to have a partner who appreciates that,” the actress added.
The actress, when asked how her marriage with Nick has impacted her work, she said, “Nick has impacted me in a big way. I’ve become a lot calmer in life. Nick is an amazingly talented creative person and we bounce a lot of our work off of each other.”
Speaking about her relationship with her husband, Priyanka said, “I learned from Nick a lot. He’s an amazingly talented creative person and we bounce a lot of our work off of each other. His ideas with me, my ideas with him, let us develop things together. So having a creative partnership with your partner is amazing. Like my parents were both doctors and they used to both check-in with each other about their work.”
“They would both like to say, oh, I’m planning on doing this and ask for each other’s feedback and opinions. And I find that fascinating. So I’m so grateful that I married somebody in my profession and understands, the creative ideas that I have maybe at dinner or when we’re talking so that’s really wonderful.”
