Pankaj Tripathi, has reached a stage of saturation in his career

by Ratan Srivastava

Pankaj Tripathi discusses his career’s saturation point in an open interview.

One of Bollywood’s best actors is Pankaj Tripathi. In movies like Stree, Gurgaon, Ludo, Luka Chupi, and the web series Mirzapur, he has played a variety of roles. Tripathi is preparing for the release of his new movie Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga, which is scheduled for June 24. In this film, a village on the outskirts of a forest engages in a strange activity as a result of the negative effects of urbanisation, man-animal conflicts, and poverty.

In the meantime, the actor spoke candidly about Sherdil, his two-decade-long career in Bollywood, and how he has hit the saturation point in a recent interview with Indian Express. The performer said, “It has been quite an interesting journey. I remember clearly how I did a few roles initially where I was the face but the voice was not mine, my part was edited out, and then I was a small part of large films. My journey is proof that if you work hard and consistently keep working on your craft, your journey will bear fruits. Sherdil is that fruit for me. It tells an important story about man and his relationship with nature, and the best part of it all is that it is a satirical film.”

After consecutive films and television shows, the actor said that his career had reached its saturation point. “I know that I am almost at the saturation point. I plan to work a little less in the coming days. I am getting a feeling that I should do less work. I will try that for a year or so. If it doesn’t work, then I’ll be back to doing what I do now.”

Tripathi added that moving forward, he want to work on roles that will make him happy as an actor.

Back to the movie: Srijit Mukherji’s Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga was influenced by a peculiar custom that existed close to the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve, wherein peasants would abandon their old relatives so that tigers might dine on them and the family would receive payment from the authorities.
