South Mumbai’s Dreamland Cinema to be redeveloped into a mall, confirms the owner Yunus Supariwala.
This Covid Pandemic has affected a lot of businesses and showbiz is also one of them. Here is the big news about one of the cinema hall in south Mumbai. As per the reports, the Etimes Dreamland cinema hall of South Mumbai to be redeveloped into a mall soon. The news has been confirmed by the owner of Dreamland Yunus Supariwala. He also revealed some memories about the first and last film movie screen in cinema. He also mentions that he had purchased this Dreamland cinema 35 years ago.
The owner Yunus Supariwala was quite emotional while talking about the memories and the love that people has shown to the cinema. He said, ‘It is going under redeveloped into the mall, but there will be a small theatre that will continue screening films.” He shared Tezaab in 1988, starring Madhuri Dixit and Anil Kapoor was the first-ever movie screened in the theatres. Continuing further, he revealed the last movie was Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Baaghi 3.
Dreamland cinema is one of that cinema that ruled the 70s and 90s era. The owner said, ‘This theatre made Madhuri Dixit, Shah Rukh Khan, and Jaya Pradha into stars as all these films ran for several weeks and drew an audience from all around the main city of Mumbai. Many theatres which got shut recently are Ajanta, Edward, Capitol, Apsara, Opera House, Strand, Diana, Shalimar, Ganga Jamuna and Alishaan. These are the following theatre that ruled the 70s and 90s era in Mumbai.
