Drishyam The Conclusion Nears Rs 500 Crore as Mohanlal Praises It
Mohanlal's public nod for Ajay Devgn's Drishyam The Conclusion arrives as the finale nears Rs 500 crore at the global box office.

When the actor who first lived a franchise hero on screen gives his blessing, the moment lands differently. Mohanlal, who headlined the original Malayalam Drishyam films, has publicly praised Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam: The Conclusion. The producers shared his video message on Instagram on Monday.
A 500-crore finish in sight
Released on October 2, the Hindi thriller is now on course to cross Rs 500 crore at the global box office. That would make the concluding chapter one of the strongest theatrical performers of the season and a fitting send-off for a franchise built on family, loyalty and twist-heavy storytelling.
Mohanlal kept his endorsement simple. He called the film’s conclusion of a “much-loved journey” impressive and signed off with a warm “So well done.” The makers reposted the clip with a thank-you note and a nudge to book tickets while the film is still in cinemas.
Who is carrying the finale
Drishyam: The Conclusion brings Ajay Devgn back as Vijay Salgaonkar, the ordinary cable operator whose efforts to protect his family keep pushing him into tense battles of wit with the law. The returning ensemble includes Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav.
Jaideep Ahlawat joins the story as Rajveer Singh Tomar, a crime branch officer determined to reopen the case. Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the film is produced by Panorama Studios and presented by Star Studio18.
- Ajay Devgn returns as Vijay Salgaonkar, with Tabu and the original Hindi ensemble.
- Jaideep Ahlawat joins as Rajveer Singh Tomar, a crime branch officer.
- The finale is on course to cross Rs 500 crore worldwide after its October 2 release.
Why Mohanlal’s praise matters
The Drishyam story began in Malayalam with Jeethu Joseph’s original film starring Mohanlal. The Hindi adaptation arrived in 2015, directed by the late Nishikant Kamat, and Drishyam 2 followed in 2022 as one of the year’s biggest Hindi hits. Mohanlal’s approval therefore works as a bridge between the franchise’s regional roots and its pan-India closing chapter.
The box-office number carries extra weight because Hindi thrillers rarely sustain this kind of run without a major action template. Drishyam: The Conclusion has done it by trading spectacle for tension, and by making the audience feel protective of a family that has spent three films hiding a single secret.
That emotional hold is exactly why the original star’s word travels. New viewers may discover the Hindi trilogy first, while older fans remember Mohanlal setting the template as the same protective father in Malayalam. His shout-out gives both camps a shared moment.
The makers are keeping the theatrical window central, with cinemas now showing the film and the production banner urging audiences to book tickets. If the 500-crore mark is crossed, the finale will close the franchise on a high note.
