Milap Zaveri Predicts Big Silaa Opening and a 1000% Reunion

Milap Zaveri predicts a strong opening for Harshvardhan Rane's Silaa and says he is 1000% certain he will direct the actor again.

Silaa Could Open Big and the Harsh Reunion Is 1000%

Marking one year of Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, writer-director Milap Zaveri has already given the next Harshvardhan Rane solo release a strong vote of confidence. Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, he said Silaa should take “a very good opening” — partly because more than a year will have passed since the actor’s last film.

That gap is the real story. Harshvardhan has not had a release since Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, and the audience has been waiting to see him again. For Silaa, that could turn curiosity into first-day demand rather than a slow build.

From cult favourite to re-release record-holder

Harshvardhan’s standing changed with Sanam Teri Kasam. The 2016 film did not work initially, but it earned a cult following and returned to cinemas in February 2025 as the biggest re-release hit ever. Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat then became a hit, so the industry now treats his solo outings differently.

The upcoming slate explains the confidence:

  • Silaa — his next solo film, with director Omung Kumar.
  • Police Company — a project with Ram Gopal Varma.
  • Force 3 — to be directed by Bhav Dhulia.

Milap said fans of Deewaniyat and romance will love Silaa and will hopefully turn up for it in a big way.

Why a year-long wait helps

In a star-driven market, goodwill from a hit and a record re-release can be quick. If the actor then stays off screen for over a year, the next title absorbs all of that pent-up attention. Silaa is not competing with a fresh Harshvardhan release, and it arrives after two back-to-back wins with his fanbase.

For our readers, the practical signal is to watch Silaa’s opening as a test of how far Harshvardhan’s re-release fame has travelled. A strong first day would suggest the Sanam Teri Kasam wave was not a one-off.

Jealousy, and a 1000% reunion promise

Milap has been open about wanting to direct Harshvardhan again. The two talk almost every day, but a reunion could not happen this time because Harsh was busy with other commitments while Milap had long wanted to work with Aditya Roy Kapur.

After that Aditya Roy Kapur project, Milap wants to return to Harsh. He admitted he feels jealous watching Ram Gopal Varma, Omung Kumar and Bhav Dhulia direct the actor, and called him a “director’s delight”. His promise was emphatic: “I am 1000% going to reunite with Harsh.”

For now, the next chapter belongs to Silaa — with an industry cheerleader already promising the collaboration fans are waiting for.
