When it comes to her wedding, Yami Gautam described her wedding as an extension of her personality, and she considers herself fortunate since Aditya Dhar shares her sentiments. The actress said that you should do whatever makes you happy on your wedding day and that no one should tell you otherwise. When asked about our industry’s designers, the actress stated that she has had the opportunity to work with several exceptional designers, but that even in the fashion sector, some designers may refuse to give you their garment because you are so and so.
Yami Gautam recalled an incident that occurred with her, saying, “I remember I heard that about myself once. That person said, ‘No, that lehenga is not for you’, and I was like ‘What, why?!’, and they said, ‘No, just doesn’t work with that designer’. It was so mean. I don’t understand what the criteria is, how can you make someone feel so bad? But its not true for all designers, some of them are really good with their work and their attitude, but there is always a rotten apple.”
Yami claimed that it was after this experience that she resolved to never let someone make her feel horrible about herself. And she had it in her mind that when her big day arrived, she would do things her way. She had it in her mind that she would wear her mother’s saree on her wedding day because of the emotional connection she had with it.
