Legendary Actor Dilip Kumar Passes Away At The Age of 98

Veteran Actor Dilip Kumar was admitted to the hospital twice last month; the actor was suffering from age-related illness for years and is no longer with us.

Film legend passed away on Wednesday. As per the details revealed by the news agency ANI, Dr Jalil Parkar, the pulmonologist at Mumbai’s PD Hinduja Hospital, confirmed the news of the actor’s death. Speaking to Indian Express, Dr Jalil Parkar revealed that the legendary actor passed away at 7.30 am on Wednesday. ‘He passed away due to prolonged age-related illness.

Earlier, the Cinema Icon wife, Saira Banu, said that “his health is stable but doctors haven’t confirmed his discharge right now.” Later on, in the last month’s end, he was again hospitalised in the ICU ward due to his complaint of facing the issue of breathlessness.

Faisal Farooqui shared the news of his death on Dilip Saheb’s official Twitter account. He tweeted and informed me that ‘With a heavy heart and profound grief, I announce the passing away of our beloved Dilip Saab a few minutes ago. We are from God and to Him we return. – Faisal Farooqui.’

Dilip Kumar was known as the Tragedy King of Indian cinema; He worked in 65 films. Including some of the best films like Jugnu opposite Noor Jehan, which was the first significant hit for Kumar. Further on, he was part of films such as Daag (1954), Devdas (1955), Azaad (1956), Naya Daur (1957), Mughal-e-Azam (1960), Ganga Jamuna (1961), Ram Aur Shyam (1967),  Dastaan (1972), Kranti (1981), and Karma (1986). The actor was last seen in the film Qila which was released in the year 1998.
