A couple of years back, Anees Bazmee has been given charge of the Bhool Bhulaiyaa sequel. It was revealed that the film will feature Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani in lead. Tabu has been roped in to play the character possessed by a ghost. The shooting started in early 2020 but was halted mid-way due to the pandemic pervaded lockdown.
The makers attempted to shoot again in March 2021 at Manali and Mumbai. Considerable parts of the movie were shot before it was held up again. Kartik tested positive followed by yet another lockdown post-second wave of Covid-19. However, lockdowns are being eased and producer Anees Bazmee is planning to start Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 as soon as possible in Mumbai.
Reportedly, the makers are now permitted to shoot. The team is planning the schedule this week. The remaining portions of the film will be wrapped up in one schedule in Mumbai. The cast and crew might have to go to Lucknow for a brief period to sustain continuity. The film is almost ready and the entire remaining portions will be shot in one go.
Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani are collaborating for the first time. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is being hyped as a proper horror-comedy, unlike its forerunner. Bhool Bhulaiya 1 had comical undertones but basically a psychological thriller. Two songs from the Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan movie are recreated in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. The film is gearing up for a November 2021 release.
