As per the latest reports, Kareena Kapoor Khan turns producer with this upcoming Thriller film, to be co-produced by Ekta Kapoor and film helmed by Hansal Mehta. See details below to know more.
Kareena Kapoor Khan is slated to produce a thriller that has yet to be named. Hansal Mehta, who recently had success with Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story, will direct the film, which will be co-produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms. The brutal thriller is set in the United Kingdom and is based on a true storey.
Kareena’s photo with Hansal and Ekta was used by journalist Rahul Raut to announce the news on Twitter. He wrote, “And It’s Official Now!! #KareenaKapoorKhan to star in #Scam1992 director @mehtahansal’s next gritty thriller set in the UK… Kareena is also turning producer with this real-life based film and will back it along with @ektarkapoor’s banner… Goes on floors towards the year-end!”
The film is even more important for Kareena Kapoor Khan because it is her first since the birth of her son Jeh. Kareena informed that “I’m honoured to work as a producer on this film with Ekta. I am a huge fan of Hansal’s movies, and to work with him for the first time will be special. This film marks a lot of firsts.”
Hansal Mehta added, “Our aim is to create a gripping and moody thriller with Kareena playing a character that I hope will do justice to her talent as an actor. I look forward to venturing on this journey with Ekta and Kareena, both of whom are powerhouses [of talent].”
In 2018, Ekta Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan collaborated on the comedy Veere Di Wedding. Ekta Kapoor said, “Kareena is a dynamite combination of star power and talent. To have Hansal Mehta, one of the most prolific filmmakers of our times, tell this story makes it all the more exciting.”
