Kangana Ranaut urges Maharashtra Government to open theatres ahead of Thalaivii’s release

Following Akshay Kumar’s Bell Bottom, Kangana Ranaut’s forthcoming film, Thalaivii is all set to hit theatres on September 10, 2021. Though Kangana is thrilled about her movie’s Telugu and Tamil version finally releasing in cinemas, she is upset that the Hindi version will have only got a 2-weeks screening window.

Taking to her Instagram stories, Kangana requested the government of Maharashtra to open the theatres in the state. In her note, she stated that now that COVID-19 cases have dropped down, the govt. should let the movie release in theatres. She wrote, “Cases in Maharashtra have declined. Requesting Maharashtra Government to #OpenUpCinemas in Maharashtra and save the dying film industry and theatres business,” followed by folded hands emoji.

Thalaivii marks Kanagan’s second biopic, earlier the actress essayed Rani Laxmi Bai in Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. In the forthcoming film, she will be getting to life former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, J Jayalalithaa. The film will showcase the journey of the actress turning into a politician. Directed by A.L. Vijay, Thalaivii also stars Arvind Swami and Bhagyashree in prominent roles.

Besides Thalaivii, Kangana will be seen in Dhaakad, Tejas and Manikarnika Returns: The Legend Of Didda.
