Janhvi Kapoor is one of Bollywood’s most sought-after actresses such days. The young diva, who earned her big Bollywood debut opposite Ishaan Khatter inside the 2018 film Dhadak, has not only won hearts with her spectacular acting prowess but with a pleasant demeanour. Janhvi will be seen next in Good Luck Jerry. The movie is a Hindi remake of the Tamil film Kolamavu Kokila, which stars Nayanthara in the major role and was released in 2018. Janhvi opened up about doing movie remakes in a recent interview.
When asked if it is advantageous for an actor to perform a remake in an interview with Filmfare, Janhvi gave a well-balanced answer. “I think doing a remake has its pros and cons. Obviously, you know that it’s a film that has been loved by a large group of people. However, I still do think that it is a fun balance between still respecting the material and the intention with which the material was made”,she said.
She went on to say that she believes that any successful film, or anything successful in general, appeals to people if it was done with a genuine and honest goal, which must be preserved and appreciated.
If it’s another director, she stressed that whoever makes it again ought to have their own unique viewpoint on it. Also, if it’s the same filmmaker, they’ll have the original viewpoint, which has already piqued the interest of a large number of people, she added.
