From Baby Do Die Do to Toxic and now the Emmys, 2026 marks another significant chapter in Huma Qureshi’s career. The Actor-producer is set to be the only Indian actress attending key Emmy events in Los Angeles this year starting on the 10th of September.
Huma is set to attend Gold House’s third annual One House Toast to the Emmys, one of the prominent gatherings celebrating multicultural talent in television, as well as the Motion Picture & Television Fund’s (MPTF) 20th annual Evening Before pre-Emmy benefit at the Pacific Design Centre, among other events.
Her Emmy appearance comes after a year in which Huma has continued to push herself into distinctly different spaces as an actor and producer. Huma made her debut as a producer with Baby Do Die Do, while also playing the film’s central character, Baby Karmarkar. The July 3 release saw her play a deaf and mute assassin, a role that required her to build the character almost entirely through physicality, expressions, and sign language.
She then stepped into an entirely different space with Toxic, which released theatrically on August 26. Directed by Geetu Mohandas and headlined by Yash, the film sees Huma play Elizabeth, a powerful antagonist. Her turn as Elizabeth marks a striking shift into her villain era, with the actor embracing a darker, more commanding character in the action drama.
The contrasting roles from playing a deaf and mute assassin in Baby Do Die Do to portraying the fierce Elizabeth in Toxic have made 2026 an especially varied year for Huma as a performer.
Her international journey has also continued alongside this diverse slate. After her appearance at Cannes earlier this year, her presence at the Emmy events in Los Angeles adds another chapter to Huma’s growing global footprint, bringing her into the orbit of the international film industry at a time when her work in India continues to expand across formats.
