Mumbai: Actor and comedian Sunil Grover today (August 3) is celebrating his birthday. Sunil Grover has played the role of Guthi and Dr Gulati in ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’.
There was a time when he used to work and he used to get Rs 500 a month. But he never gave up and kept working hard. Sunil had told in an interview that his life changed after becoming Gutthi. He had told that he was not sure that the audience would like his character so much.
Talking about his struggle, Sunil had said, “After completing my masters in theatre, I came to Mumbai for acting. But for a year I kept partying. I lived in a posh area and had exhausted all my savings. I used to earn only Rs 500 a month at that time. But I knew that I would be successful soon.”
Sunil had said that he knew that he could do acting because once in a school function, the chief guest told him that you should not participate in drama competition as it would be unfavorable for the rest of the people.
Sunil had told that he later realized that there were other people like him in the city, who were superstars of their city and strugglers here.
However, thinking of his father’s story, he used to bring courage within himself. Sunil had told that his father wanted to become a radio announcer, but he had to work in a bank because he could not go against grandfather. Sunil did not want him to always carry the sorrow of not fulfilling his dream-like his father.
He had said, “I could not let my dreams go like this. So I took care of myself and started looking for work. But the road was not that easy. Once I got selected for a TV show. Then one day I was told that I have been replaced from the show.”
