The teaser of the most awaited film ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ starring Alia Bhatt was released on 24th february. Now a Mumbai court has issued summons to Alia Bhatt and ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Babuji Shah, who claims to be the adopted son of late Gangubai, had filed a criminal defamation case against Alia and Sanjay. The court has given this decision during the hearing of the same case.
According to the reports, Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Hussain Zaidi present themselves before the court on May 21. However, there has been no reaction either by Alia or Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Earlier, Baburao Shah had filed a petition in a Mumbai civil, seeking a restraining order against the film.
The film featuring Alia Bhatt in the lead role is based on an infamous Mafia Queen Of old times named Gangubai Kothewali. The crime drama has been co-produced by Jayantilal Gaga and Bhansali himself. The movie was scheduled to be released in September 2020 but due to Covid-19, the movie was not released.
