Farhan Akhtar returns to writing; fans wonder if a script for Don 3 is in the works

Farhan Akhtar in this recent photo has fans wondering if Don 3 will be announced anytime soon.

Farhan Akhtar is a well-known actor who has proven his mettle on the big screen numerous times. Aside from acting, the Bhaag Milkha Bhaag actor is also known for his writing and directing abilities.

Dil Chahta Hai, Lakshya, Rock On, Don – The Chase Begins, and other gems are among his works. In fact, his Don franchise has been a huge hit with the public, and fans have been eagerly anticipating Don 3 since the first two iterations. And now, there are rumours that Farhan has began work on the third chapter of the Don franchise, which is causing quite a stir around town.

Ritesh Sidhwani had uploaded a photo of Farhan Akhtar working on his laptop when this happened. In the photo, the Dil Dhadakne Do actor was sporting a beard and wearing a casual tee. He was concentrating on his writing and was completely oblivious that he had been photographed. The image was captioned by Riteish as, “100% focus even when he’s putting pen to paper (err.. fingers to keyboard) @faroutakhtar is back in writer mode after a long hiatus. Guess what he’s working on…” Netizens quickly took to the comment section, asking if Farhan was working on the Don 3 script. For the uninitiated, Farhan wrote, directed, and produced Don and Don 2, and fans are now eagerly anticipating the franchise’s third sequel.

Meanwhile, Farhan Akhtar is poised to helm his first film in a decade, Jee Le Zaraa, starring Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, and Alia Bhatt. ‘About time the females took the automobile out,’ was the tagline for the film, which was announced last year. Farhan later took to Twitter to say, “Did someone say road trip? Thrilled to announce my next film as director and what better day than 20 years of Dil Chahta Hai to do it. #JeeLeZaraa with @priyankachopra #KatrinaKaif @aliaa08 will commence filming in 2022 and I cannot wait to get this show on the road”. Penned by Zoya Akhtar, Reema Kagti and Farhan, Jee Le Zaraa is expected to hit the screens next year.
