Deepika Padukone is among the most well-known and successful performers in Bollywood today. At a roundtable discussion with Rajeev Masand in 2018, actresses were asked who they would kill to portray, living or dead. Deepika Padukone, who was on the panel, said after some consideration that Princess Diana has always captivated her. “She remarked,” she said “I was really enamoured by Diana. Just the way she was with people. I can’t stop watching her videos, especially the ones when she interacts with those who have come to see her. I’m at a loss for words. When I found out, I was devastated. I’d never sobbed for anybody else before, however, I did it for her. I get an odd feeling about her. I have the impression that I already know her without ever meeting her.”
On the job front, Deepika Padukone was most recently seen in the sports drama ’83, in which she played Kapil Dev’s wife. She will soon be featuring in Shakun Batra’s Gehraiyaan alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday, and Dhairya Karwa. Apart from this, Deepika has Fighter with Hrithik Roshan and Pathan alongside Shah Rukh Khan in the pipeline.
