Dhamaka: Kartik Aaryan Starrer Is Sold To Netflix For A Whopping Amount Of Rs 135 Crore

In December, Kartik Aaryan started shooting for the upcoming film Ram Madhvani directed by Dhamaka. The film was shot in just 10 days and in no time at all.

The actor had also shared a post on social media, “Shuru karein #Dhamaka Lekar Prabhu ka naam Checking in Swipe right to see my already worried Mom,” An entire hotel was been booked by the makers Madhvani and Ronnie Screwvala, where major portions of the movie were shot.

It seems that Netflix has paid a whopping amount of Rs 135 Crore to buy the streaming rights for what promises to be a game-changing affair for Kartik Aaryan. It is the highest amount for a feature film by an OTT platform, far exceeding the 90 crore that Amazon Prime Video paid for other films like David Dhawan’s ‘Coolie No 1’

A source close to the development revealed, “Dhamaka is one of the most awaited films of Kartik Aaryan in 2021 and the makers are looking forward to unveiling it as soon as possible. As of now the tentative release date for Dhamaka is said to be June. Final paperwork between the production house and the OTT giant is expected to be done in a few days,” adds the source.

Dhamaka features Kartik Aaryan and Mrunal Thakur in the lead role. The actor had released the poster of his film on his birthday, November 22. The film Dhamaka is based on the South Korean film The Terror Live where Kartik Aaryan stepped into the role originally played by Ha Jung-woo of an investigative journalist, fighting against all odds to nab a terrorist who threatens to blow up the city. Apart from Dhamaka, Kartik will also be seen in Collin D’Cunha’s Dostana 2 with Janhvi Kapoor and in Anees Bazmee’s ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ which also features Kiara Advani.
