Deepika Padukone recently sat down with Film Companion’s Anupama Chopra for just a lengthy interview in which she talked to everyone under the sun. The actress was at her most honest, discussing everything from her next movies to her career thus far. When she was questioned regarding Om Shanti Om being 15 years old next year, she said yes.

Deepika Padukone, who had her acting debut in the movie, reminisced on her experience. “Different as an actor, different as a person,” the actress replied when asked if she’d evolved as just an actor and also as a person. I’m hoping I’ve progressed. That is how the journey should go. ‘How could they ever believe I was good for that movie?’ I wonder now when I think about Om Shanti Om.

And there are moments when I think to myself, Oh my God, if I only knew what I know, I could have handled that situation so much better. There was so much more I might have done. However, I suppose, that’s part of the voyage. And where’s the growth, and where’s the development if you don’t seem to have? It doesn’t feel like 15 years.”

The actress Deepika Padukone acknowledged that her fans kept reminding her of film anniversaries, and also that she, too, should halt, think, as well as reflect on her path. “There’s so much more to accomplish,” Deepika said on the path ahead. The craft is developing, as seems to be the world; the tales we’re telling, the platforms on which these movies are released…so there’s much chance that it’s exhilarating. There’s still so much to accomplish.”

Deepika Padukone is indeed a producer as well as a mental health advocate in addition to becoming an actor. As a producer, the actress aspires to make a difference by looking after her crew and actors.

Deepika Padukone elaborated on the topic, saying, “We put in long hours, especially for the crew. There is a perception that the more individuals that work extra as well as overtime, the faster the task will be completed. And my viewpoint is the polar opposite. People require sufficient downtime or relaxation. They return with more vigour. That, in any case, makes you work more quickly. The result is of higher quality. Streamline your working hours. A five-day workweek. Saturdays should be reserved for planning and discussion. No one phones or leaves messages on Sunday. Monday’s call time should indeed be received on Saturday. To be rewarded for unworked hours. The meal was supplied to the crew. The team must be fed nutritious nourishment. For anybody on set, there is a mental health specialist on set.”
