Darlings, starring Alia Bhatt, has had fans ecstatic since its announcement. This is the actress’s second collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan, although this time he will be working as a producer behind the camera. Along with SRK’s Red Chillies, this will be her first film as a producer. Pinkvilla previously claimed that this film will receive a direct digital launch on Netflix this summer, and now we have confirmation of that. Alia Bhatt shared a funny video with Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma, and Roshan Mathew on her Instagram account. Alia sits on a couch and talks on the phone at the start of the video. She is about to respond, “Darlings is coming on…” when she is asked if her film Darlings would be available on Netflix. Shefali, Vijay, and Matthew all do the same thing, evading the topic in their own amusing way. Alia wrote in response to this video, “Hey, darlings. I want to tell you something big but the network is not good here. Hello..hello?”
Darlings is a dark comedy about a mother–daughter relationship, according to the press. Shefali Shah will play Alia Bhatt’s mother in the movie, which also stars Vijay Varma and Roshan Mathew in pivotal roles. Darlings is directed by Jasmeet K Reen, while the soundtrack is composed by Vishal Bharadwaj.
Apart from Darlings, Alia Bhatt has roles in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani with Ranveer Singh, Brahmastra with Ranbir Kapoor, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra with Ranveer again. She’s also said to be in negotiations with Kortala Siva for Jr. NTR’s forthcoming Pan Indian feature, although formal confirmation from the producers is still pending.
