BREAKING: Filmmaker Partho Ghosh Passes Away at 75

Veteran Bollywood director Partho Ghosh, famed for thrillers like 100 Days (1991) starring Madhuri Dixit and Jackie Shroff, and the Nana Patekar–Manisha Koirala starrer Agni Sakshi (1996), died today in Mumbai following a heart attack. He was 75 .

The news was confirmed by actor Rituparna Sengupta. Ghosh began his cinematic journey as an assistant director in the mid-1980s, rising to prominence with 100 Days, India’s hit suspense thriller. He followed this success with Dalaal (1993) and the critically acclaimed Agni Sakshi, noted for its exploration of domestic violence .

A resident of Mumbai’s Madh Island, Partho Ghosh is survived by his wife, Gouri Ghosh .
