ASFC Suspends Sunday Football After Tiger Shroff Firing

The All Stars Football Club (ASFC) has called off its weekly Sunday practice matches after the October 18 firing incident involving Tiger Shroff outside a Juhu football ground. Club owner Bunty Walia confirmed the October 25 session was cancelled, and the next match will not be announced until a security plan is finalised.

A long-running Sunday fixture goes quiet

For years, the club’s Sunday evening sessions at Jamnabai Narsee School playground have been a familiar weekend ritual for Bollywood actors. The routine stopped after two men on a motorcycle reportedly fired five to seven bullets at Tiger Shroff’s car outside the ground, according to reports cited by The Times of India. The incident has left the team shaken.

The star regulars in the frame

ASFC’s regulars include Abhishek Bachchan, Kartik Aaryan and Ranbir Kapoor, which is why the club is treating this as a safety issue for the whole celebrity group. Walia said there would be no restart until the club has worked through the security questions with the police.

“We are not sure about the next practice session. We’ll need to discuss with the police as to how to go forward. We cannot resume till we put the necessary safety norms in place,” Walia said.

How the club plans to resume

The Mumbai Crime Branch is currently investigating the shooting. For the club, that means waiting rather than guessing. Walia was clear that the next date will depend on police guidance and on putting safety norms in place. As part of the proposed measures, ASFC may also stop publicising its match dates and venues in advance, keeping the sessions away from paparazzi attention and uninvited crowds.

The change could reshape what has long been a semi-public event. Where fans and photographers once knew where to find stars on a Sunday evening, future games may become quieter, invitation-only affairs with confidentiality around the schedule.

What to watch next

  • The October 25 ASFC practice match was cancelled.
  • No replacement date will be announced until security is finalised.
  • The club will consult Mumbai Police before resuming.
  • Future match dates and venues may be kept confidential.

For a club whose Sunday kickabouts have long been a paparazzi favourite, that would be a visible change. It would make the weekly game less predictable for fans who follow the stars through candid photos and clips.

For Bollywood followers, the suspension is a signal that even long-standing celebrity habits can change overnight when safety is threatened. Until Walia and the police agree on a safer format, the Sunday football ground stays quiet.
