As Race celebrates its 14th anniversary, Saif Ali Khan believes Katrina Kaif “nailed the songs”

Today, March 21st, marks the 14th anniversary of Abbas-iconic Mustan’s action thriller Race. Saif Ali Khan, Katrina Kaif, Bipasha Basu, Akshaye Khanna, Anil Kapoor, and Sameera Reddy were among the film’s impressive ensemble cast. It grew into a franchise, with two more movies following in 2013 and 2018. The audience was enthralled by this twisty entertainer that followed the storey of two brothers and their revenge game. As the film approaches its 14th anniversary, Saif Ali Khan spoke to PTI about his co-stars, particularly Katrina and Akshaye.

Saif told PTI that the entire ensemble was going through a particular phase in their lives, which inspired them to bring that’special-ness’ to the screen. According to Saif, “There was something great about the cast, everyone from Anil Kapoor, Akshaye, Katrina, Bipasha to Sameera. Katrina Kaif was on her way to becoming such a huge star and she really nailed the songs. And there was Bipasha who was great fun to work with!”

The actor continued by saying that Akshaye deserves a lot of credit for the film’s success. He also referred to him as a talented actor. “Akshaye gets a lot of credit for helping to make Race what it is by playing his part so well. He’s a fantastic actor, and he had a great time in the part. “It was a combination of everyone’s energies that brought it to life,” Khan explained.

Saif presently has two unique projects in the works. He will star alongside Hrithik Roshan in the Hindi version of the Tamil film Vikram Vedha. He will also appear in the pan-India film Adipurush, with whom he will share screen time.
