At least three notable directors have expressed interest in doing a biopic on Lata Mangeshkar. Will the Mangeshkar family, however, approve it? Aanand L Rai, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are the three directors who want to depict the incredible narrative of the Nightingale. Bhansali has been toying with the notion for the past ten years.
Now that the legendary singer has passed away, Bhansali, who is always eager to help others, is eager to get started on his dream project. However, it appears that the Mangeshkar family would not allow any official biopics of Lataji’s incredible journey as Asia’s most popular singer.
In many respects, director Aanand L Rai says his forthcoming project with superstar Shah Rukh Khan is different and harder than his past efforts. The filmmaker stated that the most difficult issue for him is to make the picture appear realistic.
Rai stated in an interview, “It is unquestionably more unique. It (the film) is a difficult undertaking, and we were all prepared, whether it was myself or Shah Rukh sir.”
“When will we do it if we don’t do it now? The most difficult aspect for me is to make it extremely genuine since everything around us is so fresh for everyone, from the actors to the technical staff. The goal is to keep it as authentic as possible.”
