Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani to launch policy for shooting in J&K

Mumbai: Superstar Aamir Khan, filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani and Mahavir Jain will join Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday in Srinagar to launch a new film policy to make Kashmir a preferred shooting-friendly destination.

Earlier, a delegation of prominent filmmakers led by Producer Mahaveer Jain, Imtiaz Ali, Nitesh Tiwari, Dinesh Vijan, Ekta Kapoor, Ashwiny Iyer, Sanjay Tripathi called on the LG Sinha and Principal Secretary Nitishwar have shared their suggestions for drafting this new film policy to encourage film shooting in Mumbai and in Jammu and Kashmir.

Superstar Aamir Khan and his ex-wife producer-director Kiran Rao, who are currently shooting for ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ in Ladakh, recently met the Lieutenant Governor of JK at Raj Bhavan to discuss the new film policy of the state.

JK LG’s office said in an official statement that the meeting was held to discuss JK’s new film policy, which will be released soon. The meeting also focused on reviving the state’s pride in Bollywood and making it the preferred film shooting destination for filmmakers.

Worth mentioning, this is not the first time such a meeting has taken place, but Bollywood has started looking for beautiful backdrops for future film projects in Kashmir.
