One the most popular Bollywood film – ‘3 Idiots’ is based on book titled ‘Five Point Someone’ which is written by Chetan Bhagat. The book got published in 2004 and the movie was released in 2009. The novel was the top best selling books for the author with million copies being sold worldwide. The story is based on the lives of three students who join an esteemed engineering university and how their lives change as they progess forward. Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi, Madhavan and Kareena Kapoor Khan starred as the lead actors in the film.

‘The 3 Mistakes Of My Life’ is the the third novel published by Chetan Bhagat. The popular movie ‘Kai Po Che’ starring Sushant Singh Raput, Rajkummar Rao and Amit Sadh is based on this novel. The story is about lives of three boys from a city in Gujarat. Since the book and movie, both were based in Gujarat, the film was titled in Gujarati as ‘Kai Po Che’.

The Blockbuster film ‘2 States’ starring Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor is based on the autobiographical book of Chetan Bhagat which is with the same title ‘2 States’. The book was published in 2009 and the movie was released in 2014. The book portrays the real life story of the author and the hardships of the author in convincing his Punjabi parents to get him married to his love girl who is a Tamilian. The story takes a dig on Punjabi and Tamil culture but in a humourous way.
- ‘Half Girlfriend’ (2017) –based on ‘Half Girlfriend’
‘Half Girlfriend’ is the sixth novel of Chetan Bhagat which was published in 2014. The movie based on the novel was of same title ‘Half Girlfriend’ which was released in 2017. Shraddha Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor played the lead roles. The story is about a Bihari guy winning the quest for his love girl who claim to be his half-girlfriend. The story is based out in rural Bihar, New Delhi and New York. How he wins her love for lifetime is to be read or watched in the movie.
