Evergreen actor Anil Kapoor has been a part of the Hindi cinema for more than four decades. In his showbiz career, the actor has given many iconic films to audiences. Today (September 7), his film Nayak, completed 20 years of its release.
Anil Kapoor has marked the occasion with a special post on his Instagram handle. As his film Nayak turned 20, he recalled memories of the film. The actor shared that despite people being skeptical about the film, he decided to do it as he believed in its message. Sharing a still from Nayak, he wrote, “20 years ago I was the Reel life CM for a day and the rest is history! A lot of people had their views about me doing #Nayak but I knew I had to do this film & believed in its message! The film released on September 7, 2001, is a Hindi remake of S Shankar’s hit Tamil film, Mudhalvan. Anil Kapoor (Shivaji Rao), essayed the role of an honest journalist. He uncovered the plans of a corrupt and greedy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, played by Amrish Puri. The story then showcased how he rose up to the challenges when he was made CM for a day.
