Sidharth Shukla garnered a large social media following shortly following winning the 13th season of the reality television show Bigg Boss. During the first few weeks of the 14th season of Bigg Boss, which ended earlier this year, the actor finally staged a reappearance. Shukla, in addition to becoming a contestant upon that reality programme, hosted Bigg Boss 14 for one episode earlier this year as the show’s original host, actor Salman Khan, would have to head to work.
During some Weekend Ka Vaar programmes in January, Shukla stepped in for Khan. Khan was unable to film the weekend episode of Bigg Boss because he had to attend actor Varun Dhawan’s wedding on January 24.
The programme, however, was favourably welcomed by the public because of Sidharth Shukla fame. Shehnaaz Gill, his rumoured lover and Bigg Boss 13 housemate, also wished him well. “Loved today’s weekend ka waar,” the actress posted on Twitter. The way you listened to everyone and communicated your message without harming anyone or interfering with their playing games was incredible.”
Khan shared his sympathies on social media as the news of Shukla’s sudden death sent shockwaves throughout the entertainment world. “Gone too soon, Sidharth.. you shall be missed,” the 55-year-old performer posted on Twitter. RIP.” Condolences to the family.
Varun Dhawan, who co-starred with Shukla inside the 2014 film Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania, also responded to the news through Twitter. “RIP brother,” Dhawan posted with photos from the film’s promotional event, which also included Alia Bhatt.
Shukla debuted as either a senior contender with Hina Khan or Gauahar Khan during the first few weeks of the 14th season of Bigg Boss.
