Bigg Boss 20: Mahhi Vij threatens to quit after family-task row
Mahhi Vij breaks down and says she cannot continue after Love Gill's mother addresses her 'nanga kar deti' remark during the family task.

Bigg Boss 20’s family message task, meant to bring comfort from home, has turned into a full-blown exit threat. Mahhi Vij broke down after Love Gill’s mother used a family message to hit back at her over the now-controversial ‘nanga kar deti’ remark. Mahhi didn’t just get emotional; she questioned the edit and said she will not continue.
What happened in the family task
On Tuesday’s episode, contestants danced on a disc-shaped platform to earn the chance to receive messages and photographs from home. Bigg Boss then gave each housemate a sharp choice: destroy another contestant’s family message to secure their own lifeline, or sacrifice their lifeline so the other person could hear from their family.
Love Gill’s mother used her moment to address Mahhi directly. The message told Mahhi to remember that she, too, has a daughter, and repeated the earlier remark in Punjabi. Mahhi denied making the comment, then broke down while speaking with Uditi Singh and Arishfa.
The fallout, in short:
- Love’s mother responds to Mahhi’s earlier remark during the family task.
- Mahhi says the makers are only showing her comments and threatens to quit.
- Qazi Touqeer gives up his lifeline for Mahhi; she later destroys the message, and he confronts her.
A remark that keeps coming back
The ‘nanga kar deti’ line dates back to the Love Gill–Scout OP–Kaashvi controversy, when Mahhi said she did not want Scout involved and claimed she could have ‘nanga kar deti’ that Love had no self-respect after his girlfriend came and insulted him. During the family task, Mahhi denied saying it, but the edit put her statement back at the centre.
Mahhi’s frustration pointed at the edit. She said she felt the makers were only showing her comments, and warned, “I will not continue on the show.” Later, she added, “I am not here to spoil my name like this.”
Salman Khan’s warning still hangs over her
The meltdown didn’t come out of nowhere. During Weekend Ka Vaar, Salman Khan told Mahhi she had not come close to expectations, questioned what she had contributed, and reminded her that the team had pursued her for nearly 10 years to join the show. He also referenced Rohit Shetty’s earlier feedback, which Mahhi had argued with rather than accepted.
Now the family task adds another complication. Qazi Touqeer sacrificed his lifeline so Mahhi could receive a message from her children, but she later destroyed the message and photograph. His confrontation sets up yet another conflict in the upcoming episode.
Why it matters
Bigg Boss thrives on exactly this kind of turn: a task meant to bring family close ends up widening the distance. For viewers, Mahhi’s threat is the big question: is it a heated reaction or a genuine exit? The next episode will show whether she stays and how the Qazi clash reshapes the house.
