What started as a routine meeting at Red Chillies soon turned into one of the most emotional moments of Yudhvir’s career.
After being welcomed with coffee, Pulkit walked him through the role before dropping a shocking condition—he’d have to shave his head. Just as Yudvir came to terms with it, Pulkit added that he’d also need to shave his eyebrows and eyelashes. Convinced this could be his last project, Yudhvir silently agreed despite the fear.
Moments later, Pulkit asked him to leave the script behind and walk out. Thinking he had just lost the role, Yudhvir says he was on the verge of tears as he stepped into the corridor.
That’s when Pulkit called him back and revealed it was all a prank.
The emotional release hit instantly, and Yudhvir couldn’t hold back his tears. Pulkit then took him to the terrace and explained that the overwhelming emotions he had just experienced were exactly what his character, Harpal, goes through—a man whose entire world has been shaken, leaving him with no family, no support, and nowhere to belong.
What seemed like a prank was actually Pulkit’s unique way of helping his actor truly understand the emotional weight of the character before the cameras even started rolling.
