After winning widespread acclaim for Sapne Vs Everyone, writer, actor and filmmaker Ambrish Verma is all set to take the next big step in his career. We have exclusively learned that Ambrish will make his feature directorial debut with The Last Rockstar, a coming-of-age musical drama to be produced by Mahaveer Jain Films.
Set in North India, The Last Rockstar follows the journey of a young rapper and blends music with themes of first love, college life, friendship and ambition.
A source close to the development reveals, “It’s a deeply rooted, music-driven story with the warmth of first college love, unforgettable campus adventures and friendships that defy all practicalities. The makers believe it’s going to be as real as storytelling can get, with no sugar coating whatsoever.”
Best known for creating, writing, directing and playing the fan-favourite character Jimmy in TVF’s Sapne Vs Everyone, Ambrish has emerged as one of the most exciting new storytellers in the country.
The project is currently in the writing stage and is expected to go on floors early next year. Details regarding the cast and music are being kept tightly under wraps.
Sapne Vs Everyone Season 2, which premiered on Prime Video in May 2026, is currently ranked among IMDb’s Top 250 TV Shows globally and recently won the Best Branded Program award at the Asian Academy Creative Awards in Singapore, further cementing Ambrish’s reputation as a filmmaker to watch.
With Mahaveer Jain Films—known for backing compelling, content-led cinema—supporting the project, The Last Rockstar marks a significant milestone in Ambrish Verma’s journey from the digital space to the big screen.
