Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Meezaan’s mentor and director, gave him the opportunity to reenact Ranveer’s scenes and provided valuable feedback on his performance. When he was asked to fill in for Ranveer Singh, who was unavailable that day, the 29-year-old actor became agitated. Nonetheless, Meezaan dressed up as Alauddin Khalji and practised his lines. He was stressed because he had to perform in front of his mentor, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and 500 junior artists. The actor revealed that it was his big-screen debut in every way, and he was terrified when he had to impersonate Ranveer Singh.
Despite being nervous and under the weather, the actor went ahead and took his shot. Sanjay Leela Bhansali introduced Meezaan Jaffery to Bollywood in his film Malaal, directed by Mangesh Hadawale and starring debutant actress Sharmin Segal. The Hungama 2 star is the son of Bollywood actor, dancer, and comedian Jaaved Jaaferi, and he is the third generation of his family to pursue a career in show business.
