Pranutan and Aparshakti Khurana were recently seen in Helmet. It’s a comedy that tackles an issue that most Indians find humiliating. In a recent interview, the Latest Bollywood Movies star revealed that she didn’t use her surname while auditioning.
Mumbai: The topic of nepotism in Bollywood is never-ending. Star children are frequently assessed based on their relationships. In a segment of the Latest Bollywood Movies by Zee5 which is ‘Helmet’, has been capturing hearts, we went to approach Pranutan Bahl, the film’s actress if she’s ever had a similar encounter.
Pranutan Bahl, Mohnish Bahl’s daughter as well as a young actress, spoke about her struggles as a celebrity kid. She claimed that she has had to deal with rejection for 2.5 years before she became able to secure her maiden film deal. Pranutan also stated how she never utilised her father’s contact information and get to where she is now.
She said, “I auditioned everywhere and never used my father’s contact or name. I not even used to write my surname. I have faced this grill for 2.5 years and that’s when I got my first movie, Notebook through an audition. The helmet also I got through an audition. When Notebook was released nobody knew that my dad was my dad.”
Pranutan Bahl further stated that becoming a celebrity kid may help someone acquire a few films, although in the end, it’s really the skill that counts. “Everyone’s journey is different. If you want to use your contact, that’s your wish. I didn’t want to. I wanted to know my self, if I am capable of doing this in front of the camera. Aapko contact se ek picture mil jaaegi, ya do but ultimately your talent will speak,” she added.
Pranutan further stated that celebrity children are frequently assessed in this regard, saying that “People are going to judge you anyway when you are a public figure. People always are going to judge you and fair enough because you jumped into this field, you cannot shy away. People are going to have opinions about you. When you come from a film background family, you are bound to have contacts, but the point is everyone’s journey is different.”
