After season 2 became HBO’s most-watched TV series, with 14 million viewers across platforms, the Emmy Award-winning series Euphoria has been renewed for season 3. Following a record-breaking launch and continued ratings success for the Zendaya-led show’s sophomore season, the network renewed its hit Euphoria.
“Sam [Levinson], Zendaya, and the whole cast and crew of Euphoria have elevated Season 2 to incredible heights, pushing narrative convention and form while preserving its heart,” stated Francesca Orsi, Executive Vice President of HBO Programming, according to the People tabloid.
“We couldn’t be more honoured to work with this gifted, wildly talented team or more excited to continue our journey with them into Season 3,” Orsi added.
Season 1 of Euphoria began in June 2019 as well as followed high schooler Rue (Zendaya) while she fought with her sobriety as well as the ups and downs in her love relationships. The second season of the Sam Levinson-created sitcom premiered earlier in the month, with the first episode being HBO Max’s most-watched episode. It really has subsequently topped 14 million viewers throughout all platforms, well over double season 1’s average audience (6.6 million viewers per episode). But since Game of Thrones conclusion in May 2019, the premiere has also become the most talked-about episode of premium cable television on social media.
Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow, Angus Cloud, Barbie Ferreira, Storm Reid, Eric Dane, and Colman Domingo feature alongside Zendaya in Euphoria. For season 2, Minka Kelly and Dominic Fike have joined the star-studded cast.
Zendaya’s performance also earned her a primetime Emmy, making her the youngest ever to win inside the category of outstanding lead actress in a drama series. On Sundays, Euphoria airs.
