Lata Mangeshkar, on Wednesday, took to social media and shared a throwback picture to wish her younger sister, Asha Bhosle, on her 88th birthday. The veteran singer took to Instagram and dropped a photo in which the sisters can be seen laughing their hearts out.
The camera perfectly captured the candid moment filled with laughter and love. Along with the picture, the nightingale of Bollywood penned a heartwarming note for her sister. “Namaskar. Aaj meri choti behen Asha Bhosle ka janamdin hai. Main usko bahut badhaai aur aashirwad deti hun. Asha ek kamaal ki gaayika hai,versatile singer hai. Wo deerghayu ho, Ishwar usko aur uske pariwaar ko hamesha aur sukhi rakhe yehi meri manokaamana,” she wrote.
Later, the singer also shared a link of her favorite song ‘Jhoote naiana bole’ from the 1990 film Lekin, sung by sister Asha Bhosle. “Asha ka gaaya meri pasand ka ek geet aap sabke liye. (My favorite song sung by Asha for you all.)” she tweeted.
Asha Bhosle’s started her career in 1943 and spanned an illustrious fruitful journey of more than six decades in the music industry. She has also recorded several private albums and songs.
She has given several hit songs like ‘Piya Tu Ab To Aaja’, ‘Parde Mein Rehne Do’, ‘Dum Maro Dum’ among others. She was awarded Dadasaheb Phalke Award and the Padma Vibhushan in 2000 and 2008 respectively.
