The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) nabbed actor Armaan Kohli this week after a search at the Mumbai home. The Andheri apartment yielded one gramme of cocaine, according to the authorities. An NDPS court sentenced the actor to 14 days in judicial prison on Wednesday.
Armaan Kohli was reportedly taken to judicial prison after the NCB refused to request his detention, prompting the actor to file for bail. With the exception of drug consumption, the NCB had previously stated that significant accusations had been brought against the actor. Kohli will be prosecuted for either drug usage or being a member of a drug delivery network, according to their case document.
While authorities were interrogating narcotics smuggler Ajay Raju Singh, who’d been arrested on Saturday, Armaan Kohli’s name came up in the inquiry. Many times, he admitted to providing drugs to Armaan Kohli, and his Whatsapp conversations with him reportedly confirmed this.
Since Singh’s name initially emerged in a cocaine case in 2009, the Bombay Anti Narcotics Cell detained him. The NCB apprehended Singh in new Haji Ali on Saturday and found 25 gms of MD medicines on him. According to reports, the medicines he supplied in Mumbai originated in Colombia and Peru. He had relationships with Bollywood superstars, as per the investigators, and was frequently spotted at their gatherings.
The NCB informed the court, “Singh is associated with the international drug syndicate and prostitution racket. His international links have come to the fore. NCB needs his custody to investigate the matter.”
Following Singh’s evidence, the NCB investigated Kohli’s apartment on Saturday. Cocaine was discovered on a desk in his bedroom, according to the authority.
