Mujrim is a Hindi Bollywood film directed by Umesh Mehra and released on June 28, 1989. Mithun Chakraborty, Madhuri Dixit, and Nutan make appearances. For supporting roles, Amrish Puri, Shakti Kapoor, and Gulshan Grover appear. The movie tells the narrative of Shankar, who has been viewed as a criminal by the community despite spending ten years in prison even when he was a youngster.
The movie Mujrim was indeed a smash, with favourable reviews again for the cast’s performances, the music, as well as the storyline, but negative ones again for the plot’s duration. It is regarded as such an underappreciated classic, and later on Shahrukh Khan’s production firm, Red Chilles Entertainment purchased the movie’s rights.
Synopsis of the movie-
When Shankar (Mithun Chakraborty) turned thirteen, he murdered his uncle, who’d been planning to sell his mommy Yashoda (Nutan) to the rich and privileged man named Khan (Amrish Puri). He was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Once he returns home, he discovers both mother and sister in terrible health. He struggles to maintain proper conduct as well as make apologies, however, his efforts are futile since he is commonly accepted as just a criminal, therefore soon joined a gang of criminals commanded by Malik, a kind person (Sharat Saxena). His mom, an upright woman, refuses to acknowledge him under this state and declares that she has nothing whatsoever to do with his son.
Shankar’s loyalty is appreciated by Malik, who appoints him as his primary replacement. Shankar took over from Malik’s death and begins working with Khan. Shankar and Sonia marry and settle down in their own new home. Shankar’s main desire is to see his mom again, but she rejects and forces him to quit the criminal underworld.
Shankar becomes disoriented as the situation becomes more convoluted. He loses all pals in continuous clashes with cops, and then when Sonia discovers she’s pregnant, she leaves him and moves in along with Yashoda. He returns home, all alone unloved, yet his old life pursues him. What else will happen to him in life?
The soundtrack of the movie-
Anu Malik wrote six songs for the film Mujrim. The soundtrack CD included Alka Yagnik as well as Sadhana Sargam, two well-known vocalists who undertook one with their first forays into playback vocals.
